Welcome!
My name is Adrienne Adler-Neal, and I’m excited to introduce you to myself and to my goals in creating Curious and Real. I am a firm believer that true health and wellness cannot be achieved without addressing an individual’s body, mind, and soul. This passion has brought me both to my current career and to the creation of this blog. I’m currently an MD/PhD student, which basically means I’m a professional student. I research the effects of meditation on pain and am wholeheartedly passionate about developing and validating complementary and integrative approaches to treating pain. At the same time, it’s my belief that wellness is an inside, personal job that cannot be achieved without knowing one’s authentic self. I believe that we all, on some deep level, know what it is that would make us happy and healthy at any given moment. The trick then isn’t gaining knowledge, it’s gaining the tools to remember wisdom we already have. I’ve found that the two most helpful tools for me have been talking with like minded individuals and cultivating quiet journaling sessions every morning. Consequently, I decided to combine reflective writing and community engagement in the creation of this blog. It is my hope that this website will provide a forum through which we can write about our day to day experiences in a kind and accepting way that invites feedback and support.
Love,
Adrienne
